Turnbuckles and terminals with which you can easily attach and tension wire ropes. A modern solution for filling your railing, for stairs, trellis systems, sunshades, flags, trade shows, tents, or a variety of other applications. Give your home an industrial and modern charm. The tension terminals are versatile and easy to install quickly without much tooling or swaging.
The wire terminals are made from high-quality stainless steel AISI A4 - 1.4401 - corrosion-resistant, weather-resistant, durable, and perfectly suited for both outdoor and indoor use!
Installation Instructions for the Turnbuckles
- Select the correct wire rope: You can use all our wire ropes with the turnbuckles. The choice mainly depends on your preference. Wire ropes with a 1x19 construction are the easiest to tension. The 7x7 construction is the most versatile among wire ropes, and 7x19 is the most flexible construction.
- Cut the wire rope: Cut the wire rope on-site to the desired length. (Recommendation: Felco C9 - Wire Rope Cutter or HTF-ECO Wire Rope Cutter)
- Insert the rope into the turnbuckle: Insert the shortened wire rope fully into the borehole of the turnbuckle.
- Secure the rope: Tighten the three or four set screws on the turnbuckle with an Allen key to securely fix the rope.
- Screw in end fitting with thread: Screw the selected threaded end fitting into the M6 internal thread on the opposite side of the turnbuckle.
- Tension the rope: By tightening the fastening screw, the rope is tensioned and secured.
Different End Fittings for Turnbuckles / Tension Screws:
- Internal Thread: For screwing onto an M6 external thread.
- External Thread with Set Screw: For fastening to posts or stair or railing infills.
- Lag Screws: Ideal for wood and concrete attachments, such as attaching ropes to posts or in construction where a permanent and secure connection is necessary.
- Eye End: Optimal for hanging ropes on eyelets on boats, in forks, or on stair railings, offering a simple and reliable attachment solution.
- Fork End: Suitable for quick and flexible attachments that require easy installation.
- Ball Joint: The ball holders allow angled cable tensioning. The installation can be done on wood, stone, or metal.
- Screw Clamp: For mounting on round wooden or metal posts, you can use our turnbuckles where the wire rope is guided externally and the angle is freely adjustable. For this variant, you will need two right-hand thread terminals per rope.
