280 mm Hollow Fid – Splicing Tool for Rope from 14 mm

Splicing thick rope requires enough space between the strands to pass the rope end through. This 280 mm stainless steel hollow fid is designed for that task. Its channel-shaped tip opens the rope, while the channel guides a strand as it is tucked through.

For twisted and square-braided rope

Use this splicing tool with twisted or square-braided rope from 14 mm in diameter. The longer fid gives you more reach when opening the strands of thicker rope, for example when preparing an eye splice.
